The owner of Bow Tie Catering, Jeff Strylowski, started his career in catering in 1991 working as a part time waiter for Washington Parties just to make extra money.  He found the work so exciting that he expanded his catering career and applied for part time work with other catering companies as well.

Mr. Strylowski has worked as on site staff for Washington’s finest catering companies including: Susan Gage Caterers, Washington Parties, Splendid Fair, Design Cuisine, Federal City, Mindy’s, Kennedy Center, Rockland’s, Windows, Rock Creek Caterers, and Georgetown Caterers.

He has gained a vast amount of experience by learning from the pros.  Mr. Strylowski has worked at some of the most prestigious events in the Washington Metro Area including Presidential birthday parties, several Inaugural Balls, and many private events in the homes of congressional representatives.

As Mr. Strylowski’s name became known in the catering industry, he was “sought after” as an independent contractor and known for his skills in buffet design and presentation.

As his reputation grew, he was asked if he could cater a small retirement party in a private home.  It was a simple event so he said he would and that was the beginning of Bow Tie Catering.

Bow Tie Catering specializes in events in private homes but they have also done many weddings and receptions with numerous guests, as many as 500!
